If you don’t already know Manhwa/Webtoons are essentially just different terms for Korean comics which by the way have become really popular in the last couple of years. And anime studios have finally started paying attention to them, the super popular power fantasy “Solo Leveling” that even your mom has heard of, and Lookism are both getting an anime in 2023.
Asura Scans is a website of translators who translate these Korean Manhwas/Webtoons into English and Turkish. They’re also one of the most popular manhwa translators.
In this post, we’ll be listing the 10 Best Manhwa/Webtoons that you can read on Asura Scans!
Airen Parreira is a young man who sleeps to escape reality. People mocked him and referred to him as a “deadbeat,” but he had no desire to change. Until one day, he dreamed of becoming a swordsman… It was a dream about a talentless man who had spent decades training by swinging his sword relentlessly no matter the circumstances.
It has a really good story, a great main character, and likable side characters, and I really like the art style. A new chapter was released just 2 days ago and it was an absolute banger!
9. Doctor’s Rebirth
Our mc had been abroad to do medical volunteer work when he was suddenly swept up in a civil war. While trying to protect a patient, he got shot and killed by a rebel soldier. But then when he finally woke up, he realized that he had turned into a child and was in a world that showed a resemblance to a Murim world.
To be precise, he finds himself in front of a destroyed carriage and a group of oddly dressed people, who were all unconscious. He hurriedly performed first-aid on everyone to save even one person if he could, and that’s when he realized, that he was inside the world of [The Supreme Demon King] a Murim novel he enjoyed reading.
After meeting the rescue team of the ‘Three Great Doctors’, He found out that one of the people he saved was actually the protagonist of this novel, the future Demon King Yeoharyun!
For saving his life, he become a sworn brother of the future Demon King, and Baekrineuison, one of the most knowledgeable people in this world, recognized his potential and took him in as his disciple. This is the story of how he became the greatest physician in Gangho!
As of right now, I’ve only read 4-5 chapters of this manhwa but I’m enjoying it so far (I really like the art style). And, it is ranked 10 on Asura Scans in terms of popularity.
If you like reading Murim manhwa but are looking for something a little different, I highly recommend giving Doctor’s Rebirth a shot.
8. The Lord’s Coins Aren’t Decreasing
The Coin market that goes beyond the dimensions, A newcomer has appeared and turned the Dimensional Trading Center upside down! Erun Steelguard, the enemy of all traders. Is actually living his second life, after losing all of this wealth to dimensional trading and dying a tragic death.
I’m gonna be honest here, I don’t have a clue about this one. I haven’t read it myself yet but, the reviews are pretty great and it’s ranked number 6th in terms of popularity on Asura Scans.
7. Solo Max-Level Newbie
Jinhyuk, a gaming Nutuber, was the only person who saw the ending of the game [Tower of Trials]. When the game’s popularity declined, it became difficult for him to continue making a living as a gaming Nutuber.
Since he already saw the game’s ending, he was about to quit playing. But that day, [Tower of Trials] became reality, and Jinhyuk, who knew about every single thing in the game, took over everything faster than anyone possibly could!
The premise of the story sounds really similar to Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint but believe me just like everything on this list, it’s worth giving a shot. Also, at the time I’m writing this, Solo-Max Level Newbie is trending on Asura Scans.
6. Reaper of the Drifting Moon
From the author of [Legend Of The Northern Blade.]
Reaper of the Drifting Moon is a Murim manhwa. It has a fantastic main character, amazing art, a really good plot, and great side characters. I won’t say much about it except that it’s absolutely amazing and you should definitely read it.
5. Return of the Disaster-Class Hero
Humans refer to them as “calamities”—unknown, destructive creatures that appeared out of nowhere on Earth. To combat these disasters, the zodiac gods awoke 12 humans known as saints. But there was one more who awoke: Geon Lee, the unnamed but greatest hero of all. His allies betrayed him and left him for dead, but he’s back and stronger than ever, ready to teach his fellow “saints” a lesson they’ll never forget.
4. Player Who Can’t Level Up
Kim Gigyu awakened as a player at the age of 18. He thought his life was on the track to success, climbing ‘the tower’ and closing ‘the gates’… But even after clearing the tutorial, he was still level 1. He killed a goblin a day, and he was still level 1. Even after 5 years, he was still level 1. No one thought there could be a player who can’t go past level 1.
But… everything changes when due to some turn of events he ends up going through and passing the trial on the 5th floor (something he could have never imagined).
Player Who Can’t Level Up has a great main character, a good story, amazing art, and interesting side characters. I personally really enjoyed reading it and I’d definitely recommend reading this if you’re into power fantasies.
3. Reincarnation of the Suicidal Battle God (Doom Breaker)
A time travel action fantasy of humanity’s strongest. “Even if the disgusting gods bestowed this opportunity upon me, an opportunity is still an opportunity.” I’ll kill them because they want to die.” Zephyr is humanity’s last survivor. The battle with the demons ended in defeat, and the gods granted him the opportunity to travel back in time 10 years. The demons took everything from humans and the gods who treated humans as mere spectators. I’m going to rip them apart this time.
If I have to describe this manhwa it’d be “Adrenaline-filled power fantasy with absolutely orgasmic art.”
The premise isn’t something that hasn’t been done before but that doesn’t mean that it’s not worth reading. The art in this manhwa is absolutely amazing. And for me just having amazing art makes any manhwa worth reading.
2. Damn Reincarnation
Hamel was a warrior who went on a mission to exterminate the Demons with his colleagues. Regrettably, he died just before the battle with the strongest Demon Kings began. But.. He suddenly found himself reborn as a descendant of Vermouth, his fellow warrior and the mightiest hero.
He finds himself in a future where humans are coexisting with demons, a reincarnation of unknown origin. In a new world where everything seems suspicious. Hamel’s journey continues in this new world as Eugene Lionheart.
This manhwa came out not so long ago and has since then become one of my all-time favorites. The art is amazing, the story is pretty cliche but it’s enjoyable, and the characters are really cool. Definitely recommend reading it.
1. Return of the Mount Hua Sect
Chung Myung, the 13th Disciple of the Mount Hua Sect, one of the three Great Swordsmen, Plum Blossom Sword Saint, defeated Chun Ma, the destroyer and destabilizer of the world. He breathes his last breath on top of the Heavenly Demon Sect’s headquarters mountain after the battle. After 100 years, he is reborn in the body of a child. …… What? Has the Mount Hua Sect fallen? What sort of nonsense is that?
This is one of the best action and Murim-themed Manhwa I’ve read aside from Legend of the Northern Blade and Nano Machine.
The plot is your typical ”overpowered character dies and is reincarnated as a child” story, but it’s done exceptionally well. Our main character wishes to resurrect his old sect and make it the best in the world. A straightforward goal for the story to work towards. Even though the plot is predictable, it occasionally surprises you.
The art is really amazing and the characters are well-written. Overall it is a really enjoyable manhwa and I’d highly recommend reading it.
