The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten is based on Saekisan’s 2018 light novel series, which he illustrated. It debuted on Shosetsuka ni Naro in December before being acquired by SB Creative and released under its GA Bunko label in June 2019. It was then adapted into a manga with art by Wan Shibata and music by Suzu Yuki. Since January 2020, it has been serialised in Square Enix’s Manga UP!
Yen Press has licensed the light novel in English, describing the plot as:
Mahiru is a beautiful girl whose classmates all call her an “angel.” Not only is she a star athlete with perfect grades—she’s also drop-dead gorgeous. Amane‚ an average guy and self-admitted slob‚ has never thought much of the divine beauty‚ despite attending the same school. Everything changes‚ however‚ when he happens to see Mahiru sitting alone in a park during a rainstorm. Thus begins the strange relationship between this incredibly unlikely pair!
